i made a web appointment. I went in.

I was the only one patient in the building. There were 3 snotty employees. They took my license and insurance card. They kept looking at me and finally asked if I was aware that on weekends sometimes blue cross-shield of Illinois shuts down the computers to update and that means we are not able to verify your eligibility.

I told them I was not paying cash for my visit I had been in once before it was the same insurance and I don't have extra money to pay up front. "Then we can't help you." so I proceeded to tell them that bcbsil was not going to say I couldn't be sick on a weekend there had to be a way to get what they needed. I went to my car. I called bcbsil many times and manged to get part of a phone number to call for verification so I went back in to the facility.

Again....or still I am the only patient in the place. I made several more calls trying to get that phone number but had no luck. I did however thru the customer service line get a recording that took my information and told me I was eligible but it hung up before I could get one of the girls to hear it. So I went to the counter and told them what I found.

The girl says she doesn't think that will do any good because they have to run the card...whatever that means. She says she will go talk to the manager and see what she can do and takes my card in the back. The other girl in the front goes to blow her nose so now i'm alone but I still call the number back and get the recording and keep saying "yes" so it would keep repeating and I went to a door to the back that was standing wide open and got about 3 steps inside and the manager comes flying out from a desk farther down the hall and says that I can't be there and puts her hands on me to turn me around and then keeps her hand on my back to force me down the hall. I said I have the recording with my eligibility.

She says you cannot be back here this door is as far as you can go and we have tried to help you but I'm thinking I need to call the authorities there is nothing we can do for you. I told her there was nothing on the door that said patients couldn't go in in fact there is nothing on the door or wall and the door is propped open. She says yes I will do that and I think i'll keep the door closed from now on. So I leave and go down the road about 1/2 mile to another walkin clinic and the lady runs my card.

She doesn't say anything to me so I ask her if she had any problems getting the info she needed from bcbsil. She says no it worked perfectly. I told her the other clinic couldn't make it work. She rolled her eyes, shook her head and smiled.

She said everything was in order. So tell me what the ignorant people at Care Now were doing. It is an HCA facility which is why I chose them. If this is an example of a facility for HCA I am done with them.

Nobody has ever threatened to call police on me in my 58 years. I am a good law abiding citizen who works for a living and at this time thanks to a facility that knows it backside from *** in the ground was diagnosed with pneumonia.

Later I thought thing was a ruse to get me to pay cash. It would have been a good bonus for the days work.

Reason of review: don't know how to obtain insurance information after hours.

Preferred solution: i don't want anything except eduction for the twits in the office. The corp office should have a way to get eligibilty or authorization from blue cross blue shield on weekends and teach it to the staff!.
