Avoid CareNow in Short Pump and other locations

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

This company is doing nothing to improve the situation with their unqualified and rude staff. When you complain, they never investigate issues thoroughly.

I was receiving emails with incorrect patient names. I was charged for absolutely nothing. The clueless NP did not order any tests, did not ask questions, did not provide medication. She just sent me to the ER, which was absolutely unnecessary and cost me $6000 in bills.

A simple viral medication could have solved the problem. The ER only laughs when they see people coming from CareNow, as they state that this is a common practice for CareNow. I received absurd letters stating that their records did not show any problems.

Of course, your records will not show anything because she did not even make any normal notes or records. According to her, I just entered the room to say hi, pay the bill and go to the ER.

Receptionist is rude And unhelpful

The receptionist here is incredibly rude. I don't know her name, but she is black. My appointment was at 11:15. I arrived around 11:30 because I had informed her that I was waiting on a call, as all the previous times I came here, they called. Since I was late, she said my appointment was pushed back. It wasn't until 11:40 that I was informed my appointment had to be pushed back.

She called me up to the reception area about five times. When she called me after the last time at 12:30, she told me my payment was $65. I asked her why it was so high, and she informed me that since I switched insurance, it was that high. I have never been spoken to so rudely. I informed her that she was being very rude, in fact, she had already been rude to about three people. At least six people had already gone ahead of me.

At 12:35, I asked her how much longer I had to wait, and she said my appointment was pushed back because I was late. I mentioned that they always called before and she said, 'Ma'am, we've changed our policy.' Even at 12:45, I was still sitting there waiting. At least seven people had been called in before me.

When I went up to pay, I told her how rude she was behaving. She made me sit back down, and I have been sitting here for an additional 30 minutes because she didn't appreciate being called out. When I went to pay, she told me she didn't have to put up with that and told me to sit back down.

She refused to accept my payment. There was nobody left in this room except for one lady who was being called back. I finally got called back at 12:50.

Horrible services

Original review Aug 06, 2024

Went to Short Pump (Richmond) location. First of all its the only urgent care, where I had to pay before entering examination room.

Had pain on my left side and gave appropriate explanations of my symptoms. Cluless NP simply said to go to ER. She ordered no tests, no records were in the system, did not give any suggestions, no follow ups, no medication. she was extremely annoyed by my visit, I guess it was too early and she did not drink her morning coffee because of me.

I went to ER where they said, that CareNow was always doing people to ER, when they did not know what to do. I ended up paying several thousands of dollars for unnecessary visit to ER. My condition could be easily managed by pain medication. Manager of the unit after multiple complaints called me and due to unknown reason was laughing about my situation.

Of course management of CareNow pretended they did not understand the reason behind my complaints. And their unprofessional lawyer said that based on medical records they did not find anything serious. What a joke! There are no medical records!

Your NP did not do anything, did not help, what records I wonder they looked at? Disgrace!

I went to another facility Patien First and my husband was treated at another one for his condition, not a single NP sent to ER.

To warn people not to go here

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I went to the Smyrna, TN location on Thursday, April 25th complaining of head and chest congestion with shortness of breath, coughing and wheezing. My husband had the same symptoms a few days earlier and was treated with steroids and antibiotics.

The clinic immediately wanted to do a covid test but I explained to them that we tested my husband twice and both were negative, so I probably did not have covid. I was audibly wheezing, but the provider insisted my lungs were clear. I COULD HEAR MYSELF WHEEZING! She told me it was probably viral and did not offer any treatment.

When I asked for at least a steroid shot, she stated that they generally don't give steroids because of the side effects. So I was sent on my way, no treatment at all. I got progressively worse over the next few days and saw my primary care physician who prescribed steroids and an antibiotic. He said I was bordering on pneumonia.

When I told him what happened at Care Now, he said he hears that all the time and advised me to stay away from strip mall urgent care centers as they under treat and the staff is subpar. I believe it. I will never go to this place again and I would advise everyone else to stay away as well.

UPDATE 5/7: I'm now in the hospital with pneumonia and it had progressed to sepsis. I was admitted to intermediate care.

Should never have gone to this *** office. You still think my lungs are clear, lady???

You probably developed sepsis because you were given inappropriate steroids that suppressed your immune system.

Billing

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I saw the Dr on a Sunday, and they said the system was down. Once they ran it they said I didn't have insurance and billed me like someone without insurance when I had coverage.

So when I came back to see that Dr because he was good, they told me I had a $500 bill which they had me pay 20 % of to see the Doctor that day. They said that because I had insurance, that billing would adjust my bill and give me my money back, but it has been 3 weeks and nothing. When I called today, the lady gave me the wrong number and basically told me it's my fault that they don't handle that side and I need to basically figure it out.

But she works there. Not a good look at all for CareNow.

Hello, I came to the las Vegas location at Tropicana and jones at 11am was told to go do online check in and head home due to a 3 hour wait, so I did... At 2:55pm I was sent a text to head over to the office and I did arriving at 3:10pm it's now 5:48pm and I'm still sitting here didn't even see a DR yet...

Why was I told to get here if your staff was not ready? And why am I still here at 6pm when I did online at 11am? I could have went to and been just getting out of the ER at this point..

Can you tell the staff to do less chit chat and more work because I am sitting here listening to what they had for lunch dinner where they're going.. Everything but working.

I need a chest X-ray without insurance.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I am writing to express my disappointment and concern regarding my recent visit to Wonder World ER Care. Unfortunately, the experience I had with the receptionist during my visit was deeply unsatisfactory.

Upon my arrival, I was made to wait for approximately 15 minutes until the receptionist finally appeared.

To my surprise, she ate an apple on a plate and seemed disinterested in attending to my inquiries. Furthermore, when I approached her with my question, she responded with a mouth full of food, making it difficult to understand and causing significant discomfort. Also, responding to my questions like I was a child.

I left the facility feeling incredibly upset and appalled by the receptionist's behavior and disrespectful attitude.

I needed an X-ray for my new employer, and I did not have a doctor's referral, nor did the employer.

I planned to pay for my packet, and she explained the procedure. As a customer, it is disheartening to be treated in such a manner, especially in a healthcare setting where professionalism and empathy should be a priority.

All individuals should be treated with respect and dignity, irrespective of the circumstances.

Thank you for your attention.

Fire hazards disregarded

CareNow - Fire hazards disregarded

During my visit to carenow I noticed a locked front door with a sign above the dor that read. "THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHILE BUILDING IS OCCUPIED." I unlocked the door thinking it was a mistake since the door was locked.

I was then instructed by Crystal Ryder an employee of the clinic to lock the door. I pointed out that the sign was there to ensure people have an escape incase there is an emergency and that the fire department requires these signs for public safety. She stated that she didn't care and the door will remain locked.

I let her know I would report the violation and again she stated she did not care. This has been brought to the attention of the Clark County fire Marshall and they will be contacting CareNow regarding this violation

I went in with an ear infection yesterday .

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Dry confirmed that was the cause of my pain and nausea. She's said she's going to wipe a script for amoxicillin.

I said no, that's an instant yeast infection. She said she can in call in Fluconazole. Done. Whatever.

I can't drive the infection is so bad. My daughter goes to get the medicine. It's amoxicillin. I called the clinic back.

The Dr apologized, she'll call again. We wait another 20min. My daughter comes back with the Fluconazole. After taking it and passing out again.

My husband gets home I show him the medicine. She prescribed yeast infection medicine to go with the antibiotics I said no to. So I'm still in pain.

Have to pay to go someplace else where they will give my an antibiotic that works. Never going back.

My wife went in July 14 for a Covid test knowing she already had Covid. She was wanting a paxlovid script as it worked so well in the past.

Now, due to their improper billing to the insurance company. They say we owe $204 out of a $528 total charge.

According to our insurance company, they say we owe nothing. We satisfied the co-pay, but are unable to get anyone at care now to even acknowledge the problem they have no customer service whatsoever.

Told to leave clinic without any service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Adult son was in severe pain in side, felt it was kidney, became irritated at trying to fill out paper work, ( had good insurance ) he said the "f" work and receptionist told him to leave , we do not need people like you in here, he has tattoos and long hair, was judged by a non medical person , he ended up in an ER at a hospital, (5 hours), he did have a kidney stone. Letter from home office stating he was barred from service in any of their facilities in the future. Really a caring place, a real joke, Their website stated that they had 11 physicians here, not true, at least all in a given day.

First of all, urgent care is not equipped to confirm kidney stones, as this requires advanced imaging. Second, urgent care doesn’t carry the type of pain medications to combat the pain from a kidney stone. That is clearly an ER visit.

Billing

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I took my son to Care Now in Chester Virginia on October 2, 2023. Part of the process was attaching a credit card to our file.

I paid the $50 co-pay as expected through our insurance company at the time of the visit.

On October 20th I was charged $180 to my credit card, without any prior warning or notice. I have not received any EOBs, bills from physicians, insurance, or any other party that I would have to provide payment too. I expressed my displeasure with a representative on the phone, who was actually nice and a human being, but she explained to me that I signed paperwork during the sign in process at the time of my visit that allowed them to charge a max of $180. Virginia is their pilot state for this evidently.

I explained to her that during my visit with my son, I was instructed by a wonderful lady on her cell phone, who muted her call just long long enough to send me to their website on my phone to login. And at no point was I explained that money would be withdrawn and charge to my account without prior authorization.

My family and I pay all of our medical bills in a timely fashion and in full, but for someone else to have their hand in my wallet was not an acceptable practice by what is an now growing company.

Great service in office by physicians, but damn send me a bill or email to let me know you need payment. Totally unacceptable.

It isnt about the money, but the processes to gather owed money that has me upset. Come on, you cant just take money without prior authorization.

Been on my own since 18 and house paid off so step the *** back. Just expressing my concern with processes.

Sarah Elsafty patient 6/17/23 Refused to remove bandage, clean and evaluate wound.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
CareNow - Sarah Elsafty patient 6/17/23 Refused to remove bandage, clean and evaluate...

My daughter sent me a picture of a gash she sustained tripping and falling on rocks & gravel, I suggested that she have it evaluted for possible stitches and cleaning. Since her insurance took Care Now I felt confident with my past years of visits in Frisco at Preston/Lebanon location that she would receive ethical medical treatment, this was not the case.

Her boyfriend was witness to the treatment or lack of during her visit. Her knee was bandage and she was brought to a clinical room, she was seen but not assessed by an African American female individual bluntly indicating she "would not" take a look at injury without an X-ray? My job trains me for first aid situations and a family member is an RN so injuries should be in order of importance, breathing, bleeding, broken bones and burns. Proper medical care to determine if an X-ray was needed would have been to assess wound, clean with saline syringe for gravel etc.

and treat for infection none of which was done, the medical provider did not check gash period! This is deplorable medical treatment for anyone and despite the refunding of her copay this is unacceptable patient care. I have told my daughter to make sure I'm on her Hipaa so if you need to speak with her to get permission to talk with me here's her contact info. 972-965-**** and the facility she visited 4617 N.

Central Expwy, Dallas 75205.

She was not given any receipt or who was medical provider only pending charge on her bank account at this facilty but she was told it would be credited. I will expect a response to this email once you clear Hipaa with my daughter and if necessary will kick it up to next level if a response is not received.

After the fact I read reviews on this location none of which were good.

Post injury drug screen

We have been using you facilities for our injuries for years but recently obtaining the drug screen have been a nightmare. We had an employee injured on 10-12-2023.

A drug screen was done which had to be sent out for further testing. We are unable to put our employees back to work until we get the final results. I have sent numerous e-mails, total of 10 for the past week to get these results with no success. The employee is xxx.

She was seen in the Fort Worth Clinic on 10/12/2023.

I am at my wits end as this employee wants to return to work and she is sitting out there with no income. I'm afraid that if i cannot get any results, we will have to stop using CareNow.

If I can rate this with 0 I will surely do so. They need customer training for REAL!

I came in with an order from my company (who is paying for the service) accidentally ordered an extra service and l told them the company will email me a new one and ask them if they can just collect my urine sample while waiting for a new order cause i needed to *** badly but they said they needed the order form before they can do the test. I understand the protocol but they need to bend a little to accommodate the current situation (that is what you call customer service and thinking out if the box) but no they dis not accommodate my rest and I have to stay until i will have the urge to *** again ( that is another hour of waiting)...

So frustrated... They already have bad reviews and will continue to have one if they dont train their staff...

I, also, like to randomly drop urine specimens off at places with no accompanying lab order. It sure keeps things interesting when you are storing urine specimens and don’t have an order to go with them!
